About Me

Known online as @Taggio, I’m a Social Media Specialist who gets paid to blog, tweet and travel.

I know what you’re thinking… how is that even a job?

Here’s how I ended up here:

I’ve been working in Television for the past 7 years doing everything from Floor Directing live television shows, to facilitating audience warm-ups in front of screaming 16 yr old Hills fans. Essentially it was my job to get people excited before, during, and after a taping, which is where the social media part kicks in.

After experimenting with a Facebook group to give away free TV taping tickets, I realized how valuable social media was when it became a business to me.  I started getting sweet gigs at MTV Canada where I was fortunate to work with some incredible minds who are always looking to change the game. After migrating over from the production to the digital world of television, I continued to use social media to communicate with audiences through both blogging, video content, and engagement.

I decided to take my skills on the road and headed to Australia for 6 months where I picked up TV gigs and produced blog content for both my own travel blog and MTV.

After returning from Australia and winning a blogging trip to California with ‘The Best Travel Job Ever’, I scored my dream job as a Social Media Specialist with Flight Centre Canada; writing blogs and producing online video pieces about travel.

Although you may occasionally find me on camera, I prefer to be behind it; capturing footage and interviewing people that inspire me. If there is one thing I love- it’s telling a story.

As much as I love talking to people online, I love meeting them offline even better. Which is why I’ve co-founded a monthly travel tweetup in Toronto to connect travel bloggers, brands, startups, industry peeps and socially engaged travellers. This project is growing bigger every month and I encourage you to stop in if you’re ever in Toronto.

Want to know more about me? Just ask. I’m Canadian, so I think that means I’m nice.
