South America has always been a place that’s fascinated me, and after getting a taste of it last year in Ecuador, I’m itching to go back and explore some more. I still haven’t had the chance to visit Peru, (I know I can’t believe it myself!) but it’s definitely high on my bucketlist of places to see before I turn 30. Perhaps next year’s birthday trip?

I always love to see what tourism boards come up with to inspire people to visit, and when I came across this video from Marca Peru, the film nerd in me came to life.

One of my favourite things about travel is learning about the history of particular places and walking on the same ground that others walked before us, and how it has impacted the modern landscape of the country today. Everyone always tells me that Peru is one of those breath-taking places you NEED to visit, and it’s easy to see why. With more and more people making the trek each year with adventure companies like GAdventures, Intrepid and Contiki, it’s much more attainable to capture your next profile picture amongst the backdrop of a historically renowned environment.

I love that moment when you stand at the top of a lookout point and take it all in. It’s that moment where you are completely untethered from the world, and it’s a big focus behind the theme of this blog. Having a job that requires me to be online virtually all the time, I truly value those moments where you completely shut off. It’s rare, and it’s special, and its something I hope people don’t forget to do every now and then.

Have you had a chance to visit Peru? I would love to hear about your experience!
