Is your New Years Resolution to travel more? To leave the familiar and step into the unknown? To really allow yourself to know what freedom feels like? If so, read on. If not, read on.

The world is a vast, ever-changing place; it’s the only home any of us have ever known, yet only a few venture out to see it. When most people approach me about my travel lifestyle, they often say to me that they wish they could do the same, but they don’t have the time or the money. You know what I say to them? Stop making excuses.

At this point in our conversation, I’m usually met with defence and sometimes even anger. After all, I don’t know what they have to deal with on a daily basis. I don’t know how much money they make, or what expenses they need to pay for. But a common theme I see in most of these people are that they latch onto a lot of comforts that are inhibiting them from taking chances. Sometimes you just need to change your perspective on the smallest of things, to see a bigger impact.

I was recently introduced to the book ‘Do Big Small Things’ by Bruce Poon Tip. When I first opened this book and started flipping through the pages, I was immediately awakened, inspired and encouraged to get creative. Rather than being a book filled with story after story, instead it was a space for me to doodle, write down my thoughts, fears, and even colour. It had my right brain ignited within minutes.

You see, this is the type of book you can get dirty. You can take it with you on the road, or open it up in the comfort of your own home. It reminded me the importance of setting goals and listening to what truly drives me. And quite frankly, it’s something I’d love for others to take the time to do too.

I’m giving away a brand new copy of Do Big Small Things and YOU could have it in your hands. All you have to do is head over to my Instagram post and leave a comment with where you would most like to travel in 2016. By typing it out and sharing your dream with me, you are in a way setting a goal. And that is something I would love to help you achieve :) Even if you don’t win the book, I will still be following up with each entrant to hold them accountable to their travel goal and follow-up with them on a quarterly basis to see how their progress is going. Why? Because I know firsthand that travel has the ability to change someone; it opens their eyes to new possibilities, new ideas, and new concepts.

Now stop making excuses, and start writing down your goals and ideas! Remember, the only thing stopping you is YOU.

The author of this book is Bruce Poon Tip who is also the founder of G Adventures, a small adventure tour company who are doing BIG things in the sustainable tourism space. I’ve travelled with them to India, Peru and will soon be conquering Mount Kilimanjaro with them in March! If I didn’t believe in their brand, or what this book is all about, I wouldn’t be sharing it with you.

Don’t want to leave having this book up to chance? You can purchase it on Amazon, Indigo or your local G Adventures store.
