Lights, Camera, Action.
This past weekend I stepped away from the computer and headed back on set for the Canadian Country Music Awards. It was so good to wear a headset again, have rundowns in my hand and go through endless hours of band rehearsals. Working live music shows are hands down one of my favourite things.
Despite all the set-up, rehearsals and ridiculously long hours, it’s completely worth it. I will always see life behind the lens- which is why freelancing in TV will always be a part of my life, no matter where life takes me.
One of the things that makes these shows so great are the crews behind the scenes. From the camera ops to the audio technicians, these people are practically family to me. We eat all three meals together, geek out over our latest camera purchases and laugh our way through the long days.
To all my TV peeps: It’s always a pleasure working with you. Thank you for keeping me on my toes, keeping me sane, and looking out for me like a little sister. I learn so much from you each and every day.
Until next time…
That’s a Wrap!
