Riding the Powder Highway
I hopped on a plane and headed to the beautiful BC rockies (specifically the Kootenay Rockies region) of Canada to experience the ‘Powder Highway‘.

Known for it’s epic mountains and award winning ski resorts, I had a chance to experience Fernie, Panorama, Kicking Horse and Revelstoke for the first time.

I brought my GoPro and my Canon Rebel along for the ride and captured our week long adventure in this video:
If you haven’t experienced the Powder Highway yet, I highly recommend checking it out next season. Some of the best powder conditions one could ask for, and the most breathtaking scenery that even a camera can’t quite capture. Visit www.powderhighway.com for more info!
Big thanks to Tourism BC for hosting us for a week long adventure of fun in the snow. Be sure to follow them on Twitter @TourismBC to learn more about this amazing province.

great video…but you forgot to include (or at least mention) 2 other resorts that, while they don’t have the cache or refinement of the ones you visited, nonetheless are very renowned for being powder kings equally: Red mtn in Rossland (home to ski greats Olympian legends Nancy Green and Karen Lee Gartner) and Whitewater in charming Nelson.
we’re so blessed in BC to having some of the best skiing in the entire world, bar none.
oops…also forgot to mention Kimberly
Oh no doubt there are HEAPS more mountains along the Powder Highway. I’m just sharing my time on 4 of them to give people a taste. I was only there for a week so that’s all I had time to do! I’m definitely heading back there this winter to do some more skiing. I agree, you’re so blessed to live in BC!
also checkout Schweitzer in Idaho….SE of nelson…supposed to be quite the sleeper town, too…made a few ski mags this yr for being an underrated ski resort also on the powder highway.
happy skiing!
